Psychonutrition education for online and group programs.

Can an RD running a membership, group, or asynchronous program use this course?

CPsyN™ Level 1 teaches assessment and nutrition care. RDs in private practice, online memberships, or group programs can draw on its principles when planning nutrition education, choosing discussion topics, or writing asynchronous client-support material. The examples below illustrate adaptations an RD might make in their own program.

Membership education

Explaining body signals.

An RD might explain the four HFSC dimensions, Hunger, Fullness, Satiety, and Comfort, in an education piece, drawing on Module 1's interoception material.
Group discussion

Choosing a topic.

An RD might choose food rules or diet culture as a discussion topic, drawing on Module 3's material on diet culture, internalized weight bias, and cultural humility.
Asynchronous support

Writing client-support language.

An RD might apply the course's trauma-informed principles, safety, choice, and collaboration, when writing messages, alongside Module 5's motivational interviewing material and Module 0's scope and referral lessons.
